Birthday parties

My children are invited to many parties throughout the year. Now with the new year upon us, it starts again.
THey have both attended one party so far and this is just the beginning. My kids will probably attend close to 20 parties each in a year.
I usually try to spend under $20 for a birthday present for each birthday child, this totals approximately $800 a year for my two to attend a birthday party for a friend. I think this year we will only go to close friends parties and not attend some of the classmate parties that my two don't do anything with outside of school. This way I can hopefully cut back on the amount I am spending.
